Welcome Nathan Eli Spring

We had our beautiful baby boy on October 1st. The birth was truly an amazing thing. I have struggled to get my thoughts in writing and have finally accepted the fact that I will never be able to articulate how it felt to be in that moment and to have our child in our hands for the first time. Maybe I lack the vocabulary but I just can't do it. I think you really have to experience it to feel it. Needless to say it was the most emotionally powerful moment in my life.
I could go on forever about that day.

He was born at 10:57pm at 7lbs-10oz, 19.75in. He's absolutely perfect, and Michele and I are both so in love with him. He doesn't do a whole lot right now but we can't help staring at him all the time. Everything he does is cute: sleeping, squirming, making funny noises, looking around at the world and yes even spitting up and pooping is adorable with this one. :)

Welcome to the world little man!

Love the do!

This is such a classic photo, it represents him so well. He sleeps like this all the time.

Mystery has definitely been affected by the addition to the family. He's been great around Nathan, he gently sniffs around and even gets in a quick lick or two now and again. I like this shot of big brother watching over the baby making sure everything's cool.

I love when he falls asleep on me and turns to jelly in my arms. The lips say it all.

Michele has gotten back to her love of crafting and hand made these great announcements.

Life has certainly changed, but without a doubt for the better.

Amanda & Pete: Married!

Amanda and Pete were after that perfect mountain wedding in the peak of fall color, and I think they got it. Pete was hoping for a little snow, but I didn't see him complaining. Their wedding at SaddleRidge in Beaver Creek was about as perfect as you can ask for. We found a great spot in the aspen grove for them to see each other for the first time, and it was magical. Fleur de Liz did an exceptional job with the flowers, as always.

I'm a little sad because this was also my last wedding for the year. Got a baby due any day now so I'll be focusing on family for little while (but I'm booking for 2010 if you're looking). I'll post photos soon!

Sarah & Arturo: Married!

I knew this wedding would be made up of a great group of people, and they didn't dissapoint. It became apparant during their engagement session that Sarah and Arturo have an amazing relationship, and that family means a lot to both of them. The moment I showed up at their wedding I was welcomed as a family member and treated as such throughout the night. I witnessed some very special moments and a night full of hugs and smiles. Congrats to you both!

Oh, If you're into bluegrass, you have to take a listen to the band from this wedding, The Blue Canyon Boys. Great Stuff!

Maternity Shoot: Us!

Michele and I are having our first child in a few couple of weeks and we're sooo excited. We went out for a maternity shoot with Jamee and had a lot of fun trampling the tall grass. She did an unbelievably incredible job, and we can't stop looking at the images. We haven't been on this side of the camera since Jamee shot our wedding a little over three years ago. It was really exciting having her shoot this next big step in our lives. Be sure to check out more of her photos at her blog.

I gotta be honest here, I'm floored at how beautiful Michele looks with her belly. I mean, wow. She has also been an amazingly strong person through this pregnancy, and I admire her for that. They say this kiddo is going to change our lives in ways we could never imagine. I can't wait!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far. We're so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family. We owe you all big time!

Oh, you can be certain this kid of ours will be used to hearing the shutter click by the time he's 3 hours old. I'm hoping it will become a calming device that puts him right to sleep. :)

Ok, I'm wrapping this post up because Mystery needs a long walk. Lately he's been falling down the list of priorities and I want to make it up to him.

So, I have this thing with babies in beanies. I love it! You will be seeing lots of our kid in beanies, mark my words. :)

Jamee - you rock!

Amanda & Pete: Engagement

These two drove all the way up from Colorado Springs. Their three hour car ride should have taken an hour and a half if it weren't for traffic. Yet they showed up with huge smiles and great attitudes. After some shooting at our first spot they told me they wanted to go into Eldorado Canyon because that's where they got engaged. We didn't have the time to hike to the actual spot they got hitched, but boy did they take me to some cool spots. They showed me parts of the park I've never seen before, and it was absolutely beautiful. A nice small river, pebble lined banks, the smell of pine trees and amazing rock formations...Colorado at its finest. Thanks for the little adventure you guys!
